First draft, which looked very different.

Different stages of trying to figure out what the character should look like. I'm not the best furry artist (even though I've tried to put in some practice) so this was a challenge!

I had to study at how fur with patterns look more closely, and what fur and cat ears look like when they catch the sunlight.

Hibiscus flowers come in many different colors (which all mean different things) and it was challenging to find a species that looked the way I wanted; a red/pink flower with a light rim. Luckily I found found just the right kind in the end!

I had to make a deep dive into how wet fabric behave and look on a body and make some decisions about how realistic to make it in my own piece. I also studied reflections on water surfaces, how a bikini is constructed and how it sits on the body.
